The Open Education Awards (OEAwards) opened its 2026 nomination review greenhouse to a new committee structure spanning award categories and international member organizations. Organizers said the 2026 process consolidates review into a single committee rather than splitting work by category or by separate board groups. For 2026, the review committee totals 46 members, including 32 previous awardees and five OEGlobal board representatives. Organizers also added a member-benefit pathway that brings representatives from nine OEGlobal member organizations into the review process. This restructuring matters for open education stakeholders because it changes how peer recognition decisions are made—and it may influence how open-access learning models, open assets, and open practices are prioritized for public recognition ahead of the August announcement of semi-finalists.
