The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) announced its 2026–2027 Board of Directors, including eight newly elected members and a new set of board officers. The leadership slate includes provosts and senior academic leaders from universities across the U.S., reflecting CHEA’s ongoing focus on advancing academic quality, institutional excellence and public confidence in accreditation. Newly elected directors include representatives from the University of the Virgin Islands, Oklahoma State Regents, Baruch College (CUNY), the University of South Carolina Upstate, Saint Louis University, University of San Diego, Lone Star College-Online, and California State University San Marcos. CHEA also named new officers for the coming term, including Catherine Wehlburg as chair and David Schmidt as vice chair, with Lori Williams as secretary.
