CHEA and partner accreditors are creating a new leadership forum to coordinate strategy across accreditation organizations as policy shifts accelerate. CHEA announced the Accreditor Leadership Roundtable, co-chaired by CHEA President Nasser H. Paydar and Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities President Selena M. Grace. The roundtable is designed as an action-oriented working group to strengthen coordination, exchange perspectives on shared challenges, and support a more aligned national dialogue on academic quality and quality assurance. CHEA positioned the initiative as a response to heightened public attention to accreditation and quality during a period of significant higher education policy change. CHEA said the forum is not a governing body, but a sustained mechanism for accreditor presidents to coordinate on emerging issues, communicate accreditation’s role in continuous improvement and student success, and improve public understanding of accreditation’s impact. The move signals that accreditors expect pressure from federal policy changes to intensify—making cross-accreditor alignment more critical for institutions trying to manage compliance risk.
