The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) granted recognition to the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA), citing the agency’s alignment with international quality assurance practices and European standards. CHEA said KAA accredits 22 institutions and 354 programs across baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral levels. CHEA’s Committee on Recognition reviewed the application in March 2026 and the CHEA Board accepted the recommendation on May 4, 2026, after which CHEA publicly announced the decision on May 13. For global mobility and cross-border credibility, CHEA recognition signals that Kosovo’s national quality assurance infrastructure meets recognized international benchmarks for continuous improvement, accountability, and student confidence.
