The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) recognized the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), confirming the specialized accreditor for architecture programs in the U.S. CHEA’s Committee on Recognition reviewed NAAB’s application during its March 2026 meeting and recommended initial recognition. CHEA’s Board of Directors accepted the recommendation and granted recognition on May 4, 2026. CHEA said the recognition reflects NAAB’s role in setting national standards for architectural education and supports continuous improvement, accountability, and public confidence through peer review.
