District leaders are moving from experimentation to operational approaches for using AI within multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). In a session featuring North Kitsap School District in Washington, leaders described combining real-time academic, behavioral, and attendance data with AI-driven feedback to strengthen instruction and redesign interventions. The district framed AI as workload relief for teachers and an engagement strategy rather than a replacement for educators, while emphasizing privacy, trust-building, and alignment to district goals. The session also centered on practical implementation decisions about safe, sustainable deployment of AI to support intervention cycles within MTSS. As AI use spreads across education systems, the North Kitsap model highlights the operational questions campuses and K–12 partners will face in governance, data governance, and measurable support outcomes.
