Elon University and partners have released a third-edition update to the institution’s student guide on using AI for learning, positioning it as a practical literacy framework for students and staff. The 2026 guide, “Human Wisdom for the Age of AI: A Field Guide to Cultivating Essential Skills,” is offered free as a PDF and includes classroom modules and an online self-assessment. The publication is framed around helping students preserve “depth, judgment and intellectual engagement” as AI becomes embedded in drafting and research workflows. Elon said it is published in partnership with the American Association of Colleges and Universities and The Princeton Review, and has been used across more than 4,000 colleges, universities, and schools in 170 countries. For campus leaders and faculty, the release adds a ready-to-use structure for student guidance—particularly relevant as institutions move from AI policy statements toward teaching and assessment practices that account for real student behavior.
