Students report mounting AI-related worries—cheating accusations, misinformation, data privacy and inaccurate outputs—while also seeking access to AI tools for learning. A Project Tomorrow survey found nearly two‑thirds of students fear false cheating allegations; 74% of parents see AI skills as critical for college and career readiness. Teachers report low confidence and scant PD on classroom AI use. At the same time, some liberal‑arts colleges are moving to embrace AI tools for pedagogy and research; Inside Higher Ed’s podcast highlights early pilots comparing LLMs for learning contexts. K–12 and higher‑ed leaders face a twin challenge: integrate AI to advance learning while building policies, safeguards and staff training to manage academic‑integrity and privacy risks.
