Bibb County, Georgia is using AI-based parent-engagement simulations to train new educators entering the classroom from non-education fields. Under an Emerging Educators pilot program, teachers participate in branching “choose your own adventure” scenarios featuring parent avatars that respond in real time during simulated discussions about student grades, behavioral issues, and escalating conflicts. Teachers then debrief with mentor educators and peers to identify what worked and where interactions deteriorated. The effort is being delivered by the nonprofit BranchED, which says simulations address a gap in practice time that can be limited before teachers assume full classroom responsibilities. For higher education stakeholders, the model is notable as a scalable alternative to traditional internships and observations—one that could inform educator preparation, professional learning design, and assessment of communication competency.
