Anthropic launched “Project Glasswing,” giving major technology and cybersecurity companies access to a preview version of its unreleased Claude Mythos model to strengthen defenses against AI-enabled cyberattacks. Anthropic said the initiative is designed to help partners identify vulnerabilities and patch them before deployment at scale. The coalition includes companies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Google, CrowdStrike, JPMorganChase, and NVIDIA. Anthropic said it does not plan to make the Mythos preview generally available but wants to safely deploy Mythos-class models once additional safeguards are in place. For higher education research and campus cybersecurity offices, the move signals a shift toward collaborative AI red-teaming and pre-deployment risk scanning—an approach that may influence procurement and security controls for institutions adopting AI tooling.
