The litigation puts academic partners, research labs and university procurement offices on notice: federal decisions about AI supply‑chain designations can ripple into campus research contracts, cloud procurement and partnerships with AI vendors. University counsel and research offices should review contract clauses, export‑control exposure and contingency plans for successor platforms.
