Hostos Community College deployed a dual‑framework model combining Rogers’s Diffusion of Innovation and Chickering’s Seven Principles to diagnose and improve LMS adoption among diverse, commuting students. The initiative aims to move LMS use from sporadic to strategic by aligning technical training with pedagogical goals and institutional change levers. Early results are being used to guide faculty development, instructional design and metrics for retention. The approach frames LMS adoption as both a behavioral diffusion challenge and a pedagogical practice, offering a replicable roadmap for peer institutions seeking to boost online engagement and completion.
