GMAC’s 2026 Prospective Students Survey shows a structural shift in graduate business education demand: prospective candidates are prioritizing skills upgrades, AI fluency and demonstrable return on investment rather than career pivots. The survey of more than 4,200 respondents found 75% of respondents were Gen Z and half now treat AI fluency as non‑negotiable for program choice. Separate employer data indicate most firms still value college degrees, complicating recruitment messaging for programs that must both teach technical AI skills and prove measurable career outcomes. Business schools face pressure to update curricula, strengthen career services and demonstrate clear outcomes to attract students in an increasingly ROI‑focused market.
