The Anti-Defamation League reported a sharp decline in antisemitic incidents on U.S. college campuses, recording 583 incidents in 2025 after 1,694 incidents in 2024. ADL said the reduction is tied in part to fewer pro-Palestinian and anti-Zionist campus incidents in 2025, as many institutions acted amid pressure from the Trump administration. ADL also reported overall antisemitic assaults, harassment, and vandalism fell 33% in 2025 to 6,274 from a 2024 peak of 9,354. While campus incidents declined, ADL said 2025 remained “one of the most violent years” for American Jews, including a record-high 203 physical assaults. The audit continues to feed a contentious debate over how antisemitism is defined, including disputes over whether criticism of Israel or Zionism should be counted as antisemitic.
