At least four college campuses received swatting calls in a coordinated series of hoaxes that prompted evacuations, lockdowns and canceled classes. Villanova University, Alcorn State, Wiley University and Bishop State Community College all reported threats that law enforcement cleared hours later, and FBI and local agencies are investigating links between incidents. The uptick in false threats follows earlier waves of swatting and targeted threats against historically Black colleges and K–12 schools. Campus leaders said the calls disrupted operations and raised concerns about emergency‑response capacity and communication with students and families. Universities are reviewing protocols for threat assessment, campus notification systems and law enforcement coordination as administrators balance transparency with protecting campus communities from copycat incidents and operational disruption.
