Institutions are adopting accelerated and nontraditional credit models to improve access and speed to credential. California community colleges are piloting policies to award academic credit for prior work and military experience, while Ensign College announced it will offer three‑year bachelor’s degrees across its majors by redesigning programs to 90–96 credits. Both developments aim to shorten time‑to‑degree and recognize prior learning, but registrars, credential evaluators and transfer offices will need to coordinate policies, articulation agreements and quality assurance to preserve academic standards and transferability.
