The chair of Connecticut’s State Colleges and Universities Board of Regents, Marty Guay, resigned effective immediately, following weeks of leadership disruption in the public higher education system. His departure followed the interim chancellor’s resignation after allegations of sexual harassment surfaced within the CSCU system. According to reporting on the system’s investigation, Guay faced concerns raised by an unnamed employee who alleged he said he had previously had an employee fired after harassment claims. The system said it hired an outside firm to investigate whether any ongoing harm can be remediated. Guay’s resignation statement said he was grateful to Gov. Ned Lamont for the opportunity to lead the board and serve students, faculty, staff, and campuses statewide. He is expected to begin a yearlong fellowship at Harvard University’s Advanced Leadership Initiative starting in August.
