A new educator wellness scorecard framework is being promoted to help school leaders and principals operationalize self-care practices amid mounting pressures such as chronic absenteeism, rising student misbehavior, and budget constraints. In the example shared through the National Principals Association webinar, a principal described a daily “quiet reflection” routine and detailed calendar use to separate work and home life. The wellness approach is positioned as a repeatable, measurable tool rather than ad hoc advice. Users can bookmark the resources, download a scorecard for team discussions, and track which practices they follow—aiming to make wellness planning easier to sustain across the school year. While the initiative is K–12 focused, it is relevant to higher education professionals overseeing teacher training, education leadership programs, and campus-based field experiences that increasingly incorporate behavioral supports and staff retention.
