A student-led sustainability rating, Positive Impact Rating (PIR), reports that business school faculty are urging deans to stop chasing Financial Times rankings and journal-only metrics. In its 2026 Positive Impact Rating report—based on nearly 20,000 student responses across 90 schools—the organization adds a new faculty dimension, collecting 1,189 valid faculty entries. Faculty feedback highlights “implementation gap” concerns and identifies “stop chasing rankings” as the loudest grievance, a theme distinct from student comments. The report also points to faculty calls for fewer bureaucratic layers, stronger external partnerships, and embedding sustainability and ethics across programs and operations rather than treating them as add-ons.
