Among the programs flagged for elimination are TRIO, GEAR UP, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG), and the Strengthening Institutions Program, along with severe reductions to Federal Work-Study. The alert also points to potential Pell Grant pressures tied to a projected shortfall. AGB urged members to contact congressional offices immediately, arguing the changes could reduce access for low-income and first-generation students and weaken student persistence through programs designed to support completion and institutional capacity.
