Colleges and faculty presenters are rapidly piloting generative AI tools—ranging from chatbots to coach‑bots—to support instruction, advising and student engagement, reporting early gains in engagement but limited formal outcome data. Conference presentations and institutional pilots described using genAI to personalize feedback, scale tutoring and scaffold communication for diverse learners; qualitative indicators point to higher curiosity and usage but quantitative validation remains scarce. At the same time, equity, academic integrity and faculty training surfaced as recurring implementation hurdles, especially for institutions serving underrepresented students. Campus leaders will need clear assessment frameworks, data governance and faculty development plans as genAI moves from experimentation to scale.
