AGB is pushing a new approach to trustee meeting preparation, positioning AI tools as a way to reduce packet delays and give board members faster access to prior decisions and resolutions. In a live demo, AGB’s OnBoard team described AI Assist that can answer questions about past board votes by pulling cited information directly from board minutes and materials. AGB also promoted an “AI Book” that would deliver relevant past decisions and agenda context automatically ahead of meetings, along with “AI Insights” on governance analytics patterns and potential accountability gaps. The initiative reflects intensifying scrutiny on higher-ed board performance, recordkeeping, and decision transparency, especially as more institutions digitize governance workflows while trying to meet compliance and audit expectations.
