Instructure, the company behind the Canvas learning management system, reached an agreement with the ShinyHunters ransomware/extortion group days after the breach disrupted colleges and K–12 districts nationwide. Schools reported unauthorized messages seen by some users and threats to leak large volumes of data during finals.
