Indiana University’s Kelley School launched GenAI 101 with an animated AI co‑teacher called Crimson, and the course has attracted roughly 107,000 learners across IU departments and alumni since August. The program, directed by professor Brian Williams and supported by IU leadership, positions generative AI literacy as a central, scalable element of undergraduate onboarding and workforce preparation. The move comes as educators nationwide debate how to integrate AI in instruction; a companion webinar and roundtable series is prompting district and campus leaders to weigh whether AI will reinforce or replace core teaching practices.
