North Idaho College is launching the NIC Guarantee, starting with the Class of 2028, promising applied science graduates job-prep support if they are not employed within six months of earning their associate of applied science. The program includes free job-placement assistance, career coaching, employer referrals, and access to up to nine additional units in Workforce Training Center programs. The guarantee is paired with expanded student pathways: eligible students can convert prior work experience, trade work, military service, or industry certifications into academic credit. The college also offers transfer fulfillment promises for eligible associate of arts or associate of science graduates. The employer-facing element also matters for higher education strategy—NIC will provide targeted short-term, skills-based training if an employer identifies a skills gap within the first 90 days of employment.
