Elon University and Queens University of Charlotte, both private institutions in North Carolina, announced plans to merge by summer 2026. The merger is expected to create a stronger, more sustainable educational model in the Charlotte region, combining resources, academic programs, and research strengths. Elon will operate Queens in partnership with its leadership post-merger, maintaining programs and enrollment while addressing regional educational needs.
