Northeastern University finalized its merger with Marymount Manhattan College, officially creating Northeastern University – New York City. The combination makes Northeastern the first out-of-state university to offer a full undergraduate program suite in New York State. Over the past two years, the institutions mapped curricula and student mobility pathways and explored expanding research and experiential learning in New York’s financial and media core. With the merger complete, Marymount students and faculty have access to Northeastern’s broader undergraduate and program portfolio. The change represents a major reconfiguration of a New York City higher-ed footprint and will likely affect enrollment planning, program staffing, and cross-campus academic pathways.
