Oregon State University Cascades removed chancellor and dean Sherman Bloomer following information revealed during an investigation prompted by a complaint to the university’s Office of Audit Risk and Compliance. Oregon State said the probe is being conducted by an outside team and began after a complaint was received March 18. In a community message, OSU provost and executive vice president Roy Haggerty said investigators are working deliberately to preserve due process and accuracy. Becky Johnson, previously in a leadership role at the campus, has been named interim chancellor and dean while the investigation continues. The administrative change adds to the governance and compliance workload for campuses, particularly as institutions face increasing scrutiny around workplace standards, ethics, and nondiscrimination responsibilities.
