Four major U.S. boards and institutional executives moved quickly to install new campus leadership, signaling ongoing focus on enrollment, student success, and workforce partnerships. The California State University Board of Trustees selected S. Terri Gomez as president of Cal State San Bernardino. Gomez, currently provost and vice president for academic affairs at Cal Poly Pomona, is set to begin Aug. 3 and is credited with advancing graduation outcomes for underserved learners. North Carolina’s State Board of Community Colleges appointed Monty Sullivan to lead the statewide system serving more than 600,000 students across 58 colleges. The board highlighted his workforce-development record, noting annual graduates nearly doubled during his prior Louisiana leadership and that lawmakers invested more than $500 million in training facilities. Averett University named Tatia Daniels Granger as its 17th president, effective Aug. 1, naming her first Black president in the school’s 167-year history. Utah Valley University also announced Jon Anderson’s move from Pennsylvania Western University, with Anderson transitioning Aug. 10.
