The Anti-Defamation League reported that antisemitic incidents on U.S. college campuses fell sharply in 2025 after a spike in 2024 tied to campus protests over the Israel-Hamas war. ADL’s audit counted 583 campus antisemitic incidents in 2025, down 66% from 1,694 in 2024. ADL also reported that overall antisemitic incidents across the U.S. dropped 33% to 6,274 in 2025, down from 9,354 the year before. While campus incidents fell, ADL said 2025 was still one of the most violent years for American Jews, citing a record-high 203 physical assault incidents and two fatal attacks described in the report. The audit highlights how campus climate is being shaped by institutional responses to protest activity under increasing federal scrutiny. ADL’s methodology is also noted as a continuing flashpoint in debates over whether certain criticisms of Israel or Zionism should be categorized as antisemitism.
