The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center reported first-year persistence and retention at levels not seen in about a decade, based on fall 2024 entrants and their returns across subsequent terms. Overall, 85.8% of students returned for spring 2025, and 77.1% returned for a second fall term—both the highest marks in the last 10 years in the report’s series.
