North Idaho College is launching an outcome-linked “NIC Guarantee” for applied science graduates, promising job placement support if students are not employed within six months of earning their associate of applied science. Starting with the Class of 2028, eligible graduates with a minimum 2.5 GPA will receive free career-preparation services that include job-placement assistance, career coaching, employer referrals, and up to nine additional units in Workforce Training Center programs. The program also includes academic and transfer promises: awarding academic credit for relevant work experience or credentials, and guaranteeing transfer requirements for certain associate of arts and associate of science graduates to partner institutions including the University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State College. North Idaho College frames the guarantee as shifting accountability toward employability—backed by an employer promise to identify early skills gaps and close them with short-term training in the first 90 days of employment.
