A randomized trial using a ChatGPT-based teaching assistant in a Turkey private school chain found students’ motivation and standardized exam performance fell in classes where teachers had AI access. The draft study, “Generative AI Can Harm Teaching,” released online in June, reported particularly large effects for weaker instructors assigned to the AI tool.
