Faculty in the Texas Tech University System sued in federal court, accusing university leaders of violating First Amendment rights and engaging in race discrimination. The complaint from the Texas AAUP–American Federation of Teachers alleges system policies on curricular reviews and course content amount to “censorship,” affecting at least 277 courses and restricting how faculty can teach about gender, sexuality, and race.
