San Diego State University agreed to pay a $300,000 settlement plus $1.3 million in attorneys’ fees to nearly 800 female student-athletes who alleged they received less scholarship support than required under Title IX. The case, first filed in 2022, argued the deficit dated back more than a decade; SDSU said it does not admit wrongdoing and that the settlement is non-precedential.
