The University of Chicago received a $50 million gift from trustee Rika Mansueto and her husband, Joe Mansueto, to assemble a cohort of faculty using AI in their fields and to expand interdisciplinary work on AI across disciplines. The gift supports the Mansueto Faculty of Mind and Machine Challenge, with the university aiming to raise nearly $200 million to recruit and support 20 scholars in areas ranging from arts and social sciences to medicine, business, and law.
